Positives: I thought Johnny Depp gave a great performance in the title role. I also thought that director Burton did a very good job helming the pic and giving it its mystery and pitch-perfect pacing. I also enjoyed the costumes and art direction. Negatives: the story itself did not do much for me. Yea, it's a satisfying story about the danger of vengence, but... Also, I was disappointed that the film did not come to a better conclusion between the daughter and her suitor. Overall, a fairly quality pic.
